JUDGE HEJMANOWSKI
Judge David Hejmanowski graduated as a Public Service Fellow from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1999 where he also received the Joseph M. Harter Memorial Award for Trial Advocacy. He received his B.S. in political science from Hiram College in 1996.
Currently a member of the board of the Supreme Court’s Judicial College, he is also a past chair of the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Language Services, a past chair of the Ohio State Bar Association Juvenile Justice Committee and current chair of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Content Advisory Committee.
From 2008 to 2011 he served a three year term on the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors. During 2023 he served as President of the Ohio State Bar Foundation and he is currently President of the Delaware County Bar Foundation. In 2020 he began a ten-year term as an officer of the Ohio Judicial Conference. He is a member of the Governor’s Council on Juvenile Justice. From 2019-2022 he served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice, which advises Congress and the White House on juvenile justice policy matters. He is a member of the Boards of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and Vice-Chair of the Advisory Committee of the National Center for Juvenile Justice.
He is a frequent presenter for the Ohio Judicial College and the Ohio State Bar Association. Locally, he has served as President of the Delaware County Historical Society and on the boards of the Central Ohio Symphony, the Strand Cultural Arts Society, the Andrews House and the Arena Fair Theater Company.
Benjamin F. Suffron, III – Probate Magistrate
Benjamin F. Suffron, III was sworn for duty as a Probate/Juvenile Court Magistrate in January, 2020. His primary area of responsibility is with the Probate Court.
Magistrate Suffron received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Capital University Law School. He completed his undergraduate work in accounting at Miami University earning a B.S.B.A. degree.
For 20 years he maintained a private law practice focusing on probate matters, estate planning, real estate, and probate litigation.
For the last 18 years, Magistrate Suffron served the Franklin County Probate Court as a magistrate, Senior Magistrate and Chief Magistrate. Previously, he served as a referee in the Franklin County Probate and as the Court Administrator in the Akron Municipal Court.
Magistrate Suffron has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association and the Akron Bar Association, where he served on various committees.
He has been a speaker for the Ohio Judicial College, the Ohio State Bar Foundation, Ohio State Bar Association-CLE, the Columbus Bar Association, Akron Bar Association, and other associations, charities, and private lawyer education groups.
Magistrate Suffron and the Probate Court Staff will continue the delivery of timely and quality service to the families and individuals seeking the Probate Court’s supervision and protection or assistance.

Teresa Tackett – Court Visitor/Probate Court Investigator
Teresa Tacket is the director of the Court Visitor program for the Delaware County Probate Court. She has been with the Probate/Juvenile Court since August 2000 and prior to her current position she served as the Judicial Services Manager for the Probate/Juvenile Court. Teresa completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work at The Ohio State University in 2013 and she is an Ohio licensed social worker.
She developed the Court Visitor program as a means to provide an ongoing monitoring and court outreach program for local guardians appointed by the Court. Teresa also assisted with the creation of the local Guardianship Training Program which serves as a local alternative to the free training offered through the Supreme Court of Ohio for newly appointed guardians. Teresa is a trained Probate Court Investigator.
